Automated Stereo Warehouse Design Steps
This document is a detailed guide on the design steps for an automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) warehouse. The core content includes the following phases:
Data Collection and Research:
- Objective Clarification: Identify user objectives.
- Data Gathering: Collect raw data, including process flow, logistics requirements, material specifications, site conditions, and system functional requirements.
Determination of Main Form and Parameters:
- Parameter Calculation: Based on the collected data, calculate the key parameters needed for the design, such as the total inbound and outbound volume, dimensions and weight of the cargo units, number of storage locations, and the number of rows, columns, and aisles of the racks.
Layout Planning:
- Overall Layout and Logistics Flow: Plan the overall layout and logistics flow of the automated storage and retrieval system, including areas for inbound temporary storage, inspection, palletizing, and storage.
- Area Division and Material Flow Design: Divide areas and design the material flow based on user requirements.
Selection of Mechanical Equipment:
- Racks: Select the appropriate type of racks based on the characteristics of the goods and determine the size of the storage slots.
- Stacker Cranes: As core equipment, choose the suitable type of stacker crane and determine its speed and other configurations.
- Conveyor System: Select the suitable type of conveyor and determine its speed.
- Auxiliary Equipment: Add auxiliary equipment such as handheld terminals and forklifts based on special requirements.
Design of Control System and Warehouse Management System (WMS):
- Modular Design: Use a modular design for the control system and WMS to facilitate expansion and maintenance.
Simulation:
- System Simulation: Use simulation to visually demonstrate the storage and transportation operations of the automated storage and retrieval system, identify and improve issues, and optimize the AS/RS system.
Detailed Design:
- Equipment and Control Management System Design: Conduct detailed design of the equipment and control management system to ensure the system meets the actual needs of the user and operates reliably.
